Jigsaw daytradr 5.0 Beta: The Wait is Over, and It Was Worth It

Turns out, Friday the 13th wasn’t just a superstition – it actually threw us a curveball. But hey, in trading as in software development, sometimes you need to adjust your strategy mid-game. We missed our initial release date, but we used that extra time to knock it out of the park.

What’s New in daytradr 5.0 Beta?

Revamped User Interface:

  • Configurable Menu: Resize and reorder icons to customize your workspace. Put your most-used tools exactly where you want them.
  • Dark Mode: A sleek, modern look that’s easy on the eyes during those marathon trading sessions.
  • Hamburger Menu: Minimize the menu to a floating daytradr icon. More screen real estate without losing functionality.

Enhanced Auction Vista Heatmap

  • Smooth scrolling replaces the “typewriter” approach, making data easier to read and interpret.
  • Ultra-precise timeframes down to 250ms. Catch those micro-movements you’ve been missing.
  • Order and position markers directly on charts. See your trades in context with market movements.
  • Fill markers with FIFO lines mapping entries to exits. Visualize your trade journey from start to finish.

Depth & Sales (D&S) Powerhouse

  • New automated levels: Yesterday’s high/low, VAL/VAH, Overnight High/Low, POC, Mid Point, and Close. All the critical levels, right where you need them.
  • Previous day’s volume profile now available on D&S. Spot potential support and resistance levels at a glance.

Streamlined Order Management

  • Edit and cancel orders directly from Vista/Charts. No more switching between windows.
  • New order and position markers for better visualization. Know exactly where you stand in the market.

Turbocharged Performance

  • Shifted processing from CPU to GPU. Faster updates, smoother charting, even when the market’s on fire.
  • Real-time data updates that keep pace with high-volume periods. No more lag when you need speed the most.

Quality-of-Life Improvements

  • New Connection Manager built into the main menu. Manage your data feeds with ease.
  • P&L Calendar integration. Track your performance right from the main interface.
  • Auto-set Key Levels on your DOM. Critical levels appear automatically, saving you precious setup time.

For our customers:

  • This release introduces a new architecture that offloads work from CPU to GPU.
  • We’ve implemented extensive code to handle differently scaled monitors.
  • There might be minor font scaling (sharpness) issues on some scaled monitors (e.g., 150%). We’re on it and expect to resolve this soon.
  • Your feedback on various machine configurations is crucial. Help us refine these GPU and scaling changes!

Now, we know that’s a lot to take in. To help you navigate the changes, we’ve put together a quick reference guide video. It highlights the key differences between daytradr 4 and 5, so you can hit the ground running:

To our loyal customers: Your patience during this delay has been incredible. We can’t thank you enough. This extra time allowed us to not just fix issues, but to polish every aspect of the platform. We truly believe this release will exceed your expectations.
